Richard Schumann - Sculptor, Art Craftsman, and Founder of SpezialUniversal

After 25 years as a digital creative, I stopped designing for screens and started fighting for matter. In an era where AI renders the human creator obsolete, I find meaning in the friction of the physical world.

Method

My work as spezialuniversal starts with code and 3D algorithms but ends in fire, acid, and copper. I take the cold perfection of a print and subject it to chemical erosion and thermal destruction.

Artistic Direction

I create "Modern Relics"-objects that look like they were recovered from a future shipwreck. They are silent markers of a transition: from a world of infinite copies back to the unique, tangible, and flawed human trace.
